Kofi's Crossed The Line

The Secretary General of the United Nations is making use of his organisation to publicly apologise for religious, human, civil, and women's rights violations in Islamic culture:
The United Nations has a justly deserved reputation for catering to extremists of every sort and for entertaining not only extremism but distortion as part of its everyday fabric. Nowhere was this more on display than at the recent seminar on ‘Islamophobia,’ forced upon an all-too-willing UN in exchange for holding a seminar on anti-Semitism earlier in 2004. Conceived as part of a series on “unlearning intolerance,” the seminar aimed to confirm prejudices of the Islamic world toward the West, and especially the United States, as the sources of all Islam’s failure and weakness.

The tone was set from the top, by the aristocratic Kofi Annan, whose platitudes included the ritual assertion that Islam is not “monolithic," and stunningly, that questioning the compatibility of Islam with democracy, modernity and womens’ rights were forms of Islamophobia. The “Other” was invoked, along with Islam’s ‘tolerance’ for Christians and Jews (as legally defined second-class citizens), as was the qualification that the “historical experience of Muslims included colonialism and imperialism by the West, both direct and indirect.” Terrorism and violence “in the name of Islam” were merely cases where a few give a bad name to the many.
One supposes that the initial Islamic conquests (rape, murder, plunder, etc) of the Christian lands of Asia Minor, Egypt, North Africa, Spain, Malta, Crete, Sicily, Greece, France and Italy don't count, because they took place just a few hundred years before Christian Crusaders struck back, by reconquering the Holy Land (one area of land, as opposed to the dozens that the Islamic Caliphate took by bloody conquest).

You see? History is useful. It can tell a tale of hardship and sorrow to aid your modern political purposes, provided that you first omit those occasions when your ancestors brought hardship and sorrow to others. The fact that Islamist terrorists have brought far more of both to the world than anyone else over the last twenty years, for no reason other than hatred of modernity and western democracy, is not even on Kofi's scope. He isn't just biased. He's insane.

Most people who think this way though, essentially, are just stupid. Hollywood teaches them to see the world as black and white, and insists that there must always be a side that is a pure victim, and those who oppose them are vile, inhumanly evil creatures motivated by nothing more than the desire to do evil itself.

It is a kindergarten view of the world, and is personally revolting to me. Unlike my former Islamic colleagues at universities here, there and everywhere, I know that my ancestors occasionally did the wrong thing, and people suffered as a result. I accept that. I need not be blamed for that, or feel any personal sense of guilt for it. We should not (in civilized nations) punish the son for the crimes of the father. It is that simple. And people whose ancestors were wronged by mine, should never, ever expect an apology from me.

Not so Islamists and Leftists. They will cling to the lie that only whites were/are racists and are culpable for all the historical suffering of all the people at all times; that all Jews want to kill Palestinian children, and that every war waged by the United States after first being attacked at home must be for the express purpose of acquiring more oil.

I'm tired of these biased, STUPID people with their LITTLE minds. They make me want to VOMIT with unspeakable RAGE and LOATHING.
